I have a feeling that this topic will end up in utmost controversy due to clashing opinions, differentials in evaluating theories and feedback. Therefore, I would advocate for an admin or mod to take proper procedures if the topic gets out of hand.
Note that I am not affiliated with a church or any form of religious context when I am speaking of this, to prevent any unwanted ad hominem attacks.
With that being said, moving onwards…
What is the purpose of money to you?
I understand that the needs for fiscal matters can be different from person to person, country to country.
But I feel it’s safe to say that eventually the whole world, which is including the underdeveloped nations, will end up viewing those greenbacks for the same reason as the United States is.
Here is my take on it, with my own theories.
Money is turning itself into a social norm, making its way as a judgmental factor over people, things, almost everything.
As I think about it from time to time over the years, it is increasingly alerting me that fiscal matters are getting out of hand. Nowadays, money pretty much subconsciously defines people for what they do, who they are. The car that you drive signifies how much money you can make. The house you own and where it is, the neighborhood or city it resides in. How much you can spend on dinner tonight. What clothes do you wear. These are social symbols that rank people apart. Almost everything is based on money, even accepting money at charities are becoming a norm over helping out in person.
Do you really want to be apart of the ranking system? Even if subconsciously? Just to play the game that everyone else on the top of this chain is winning, but for no utter purpose other than looking important or standing out?
Yet, people still work for the same amount of difficulty. The filing worker at the mortgage agency has a lot of daily activity to work on, such as the monstrosity of the paperwork required to be done. The chief financial accountant at Boeing 747 may have similar paperwork that overlaps the same things that the mortgage agency worker does, but their differences in income is vast. Let’s say, 100k/year versus 50k/year. Yet they are putting in that same amount of effort of work.
Food for thought:
1. If today, the NASA USS Apollo 5X launched an experimental testing program of sending twenty people onto a distant planet X nearby that was found to be habitual for humans, think of the results. Money would probably be considered the least of everyone’s worries once they settled and were completely independent of relying on outside help (eg, supplies shipment from Earth). Only until the population grows, to say about 1,000 people on theoretical planet X, somehow down the line someone develops the idea of separating people apart by their distinction. Then, monetary values somehow makes its way mainstream and then we have planet earth all over again.
2. If today, a nuclear strike from any country destroyed 99.9999% of the Earth’s population. Using the US Census Bureau, it says that the population as of 12/01/2008 is estimated to be 6,740,422,806 people. .0001% of this would mean that 674,042 people would be alive as an aftermath of this holocaustic event. Movie/novel like I am Legend comes to mind for a graphical example. With 674,042 people in the world left, and some probably going to pass away due to natural problems, surely money is going to become next to worthless. The world would be on an epidemic on focusing to recover and what the future would hold.
What happened to the days that money wasn’t the issue, and that making a day’s worth of food, decent shelter, and daily necessities were considered enough?
Why can't people find a decent doctor that doesn't rely on your health insurance plan? That you could walk in, seem worthy enough for a checkout (being a decent person), and help you recover from your illness or problem free of charge. And that they insist that you have a insurance coverage plan, or else you're SOL and got to pay ridiculous amounts of cash.
Hell, even AD.com for example – see that this forum is provided for free of charge social purposes, similar to most other forums on the internet – yet it understands that webhosting is not free unless you do it on your own server. That is what I presume the ads are for, to help break back the costs of hosting it free of charge.
Your criticisms, opinions and thoughts are highly welcomed.
