What is a pro-life?

I noticed many pro-lifers are only talking about abortion stuff --

let allow me ask you,
What is true "pro-life" to you?
I think there are generally two kinds of people who are against abortion. Those who are anti-abortion, meaning they are against abortion, and those who are pro-life.

I often find myself being the latter.

I'm pro-life meaning I'm against the death penalty, against most war, a vegentablian (sp) and obviously against abortion.

Often times, pro-lifers are porteyed (sp) as uncaring and inconistent with their beliefs. Anti-abortionists who bomb clinics, anti-abortion politicians who enforce the death penalty and anti-abortionists who threatened people's lives, in my opinion, are not pro-life and do much more harm than good to our cause. Pro-life is *all* about the anti-DEATH. :)

What are your thoughts on this?

PS- please dont bring an agurement here. respect and be nice. Pro-choicers are welcome as well, however, this thread is about pro-life. Thank you.

Haha, good post! :) Yeah, I am pro-life to be ANTI-DEATH. ;)
 
I am a Roman Catholic. I believe in the "consistent life ethic". In fact, my nephew, who lives with his mother in New Orleans, was baptized Catholic because his mother (who was raised as a Mormon in Conn.) likes the fact the Catholic Church is pro-life on all of the life issues.

Yup, that what I means...

No wonders that numerous of conservative christians are called pro-life but I called them "pro-choice" by myself and they won't accept that, also it was from death row issue.

Ah, you should not call them "pro-choice" if they are pro-life. it's cop out and a little bit of rude. But, are you a pro-choice, right? Fortunately,I find myself no problem with you here - which is good thing.

Honsetly, I dont want to be pro-choice because I was almost aborted because of my grandmother.. My grandmother was forced my mom to abort her baby when she was 16. Later, at 20ish of age, her mom (my gma) was almost forced her to abort me but she refused because she was already over 18 years old as adulthood...

Well, what if she did force her to do it, some of my good friends (inculding my best friend) will FUCKED UP and rot. I feel like... people do dervse to have a life, not throw their lives away. I dont see how it option is the best choice... That's fucking creepy.. :(

I am pro-life. I am for unborn child to live, not to kill unborn child. I don't think it is fair for anyone to abort this unborn child when the unborn child can't voice to say NO not to kill this unborn child...let someone save its life. Life is a GIFT, not choice.

Well, in few days ago, I was bought about define on pro-life and confirmed to be anti-death in general, also it was from other thread.

I was just listen to Liebling that what she said conservative christians are support death row but against on abortion then she called them like that. Alot of arguement are goes on then I rather to not call anything to other ADers and let them to make decision.

Yup, I'm pro-choice because I believe that every women make decision on their individual and some of personal reason too.

I second that. :) We need to speak up for unborn children who cant speak themselves yet.

Respectfully disagree. No, it´s not rude but fact. We need to open our mind to see the fact either we are really pro-life or not. It´s good education for us.

At first I thought I am a pro-life until I learn from those 2 links what pro-choice and pro-life is about. I need to open my mind and accept the fact what really I am.

I would call myself as hypothetical if I claim that I am for pro-life and support abortion to save mother and childs´ risk life, health reason etc and euthanasia to save their suffering. I am against war, death penalty and abortion as birth control.

To my view, FORCE the women to abort is pain WRONG. It´s UP TO WOMEN either they want to keep baby or not WITHOUT get influence from anyone. It´s women´s choice, not everyone.

You cant make me a pro-choice but pro-lifers can support an abortion for women's health, for good reason. I have seen it in pro-lifers communities.
But, again, it's their own opinions. I will always be pro-life. :)
 
I support the lives of precious innocent babies--they had no "choice".

I support the lives of precious innocent murder victims--they had no "choice".

I support justice for convicted guilty murderers--they had a "choice" and they made the wrong one.

To my view, FORCE the women to abort is pain WRONG. It´s UP TO WOMEN either they want to keep baby or not WITHOUT get influence from anyone. It´s women´s choice, not everyone.

No, I do not make you a pro-choice but show you the facts what the Wikipedia links written. It explains what pro-choice and pro-life are about. It´s impossible to deny 2 fact wikipedia links.

I only see from the link of pro-life is support fetus rights which mean they put fetus first before risk mother´s health.
