Teen Girl Falls In Open Manhole While Texting

the dumbass should have been paying attention to where she was going instead of texting. at least she isn't a few years older and driving a car while texting. than the dumbass could have killed some one

Gee... even without driving, texting while moving is still dangerous.

It was stupid on both parts.

Feel the girl should have been watching where she walks. I also feel DEP should have set up caution signs also.

50/50 in Fault. JMO

When mom told her that she was going to fall into a hole one day with that technology, she didn't listen! LOL! I'm a mom and I scold my kids for not watching where they're going.

The girls aid...

"Because of their careless mistake I got hurt."

Aw, come on... jeez! Trying to blame someone else. That's like walking across the highway while texting. "Because the drivers weren't watching for me, I got hit."

LOL, yup

Put the phone down and walk away taking care to ensure there are no hazards blocking your path. It may also help to turn the phone completely off while moving.

I'm willing to bet there will be an additional way to get a moving violation - DWT - Driving while texting.

Or Texting while in motion.

If I were the girls mother I would have said - "Too bad you should have been watching where you were going. Give me the phone, you've only proven yourself irresponsible."

Exactly.

If it was a kid, I would understand that but a teenager? She's old enough to know how to pay attention and be aware of her surroundings.

Yeah. This applies to ANYTHING. If you're moving yourself, then nothing else should get in your way.

If you wanna talk on your cell phone, stop walking (in a place where you're not in anyone's way). For instance, if you're walking at the mall and someone calls you... walk to the side and stand there when you answer your phone.

I feel the same way about kids in the store walking around with the hand held games. Put the dang things up when you are walking around.

I have to make my son put his up. He will walk around the house playing the game.

"DRIVING AND TEXTING, UB NEXT" that is what I see everyday in Canberra.

New law? TWW? Texting While Walking? I bet I can see that happening (maybe not).

The parents may sue? Oy!!!

That law would put a freeze in the business world. Since many rely on texting, SK, BB, so on. During the work day.

Yes, sir!
This comes to an thought, I'd end up teasing my deaf U.S friends whenever I am there, this winter.... wait for one minute, I must text someone, did you know that there is a new law that there walking while texting is against the law, friend? then they would go 'what? then end up laughing
