Hi Alex,


I'm wondering since I notice some AD members under 17 years old (of course also under 16 years old, too) join here.


I feel uncomfortable because of this thread "Penisarium" because of children.

Do they able to open Penisarium?

I would suggest you to create those thread for 18 years old only...?

What do you think?
 
Why not put password for people are over 21? For under, they can't get in...
 
I do know u have to be a member here to get in "Penisarium" But, What I really do not know for sure if it is for Every Member here allow to view that area by their birthdates. I think the Monitors and Alex could answer that question...Because, I really do not know who is allow in that area who isn't allow.

Should create new penisurim addy pwd otherwise if r u age over as same liquior Store..
Canada is 21 yrs old over for allowing access liquior/Beer Store and includes Bar.
I have no idea about American's systerm includes rest of other countries.. wha..ever..

In Canada, you have to be 19 years old if you want to drink legally. In USA, you have to be 21 years old to drink legally.

For the Adult Penisarium, any member can add a few years to their birthdate when they are underage. That's the disadvantage with internet. However with the COPPA agreements, we must abide with rules and make sure no pornography ie. child pornography is posted. Most active forums are screened by undercover detectives that posts under an alias to keep track of cannabias and child pornography.
 
I think Alex already has settings to Penisarium restrictions. Secondly, it would be difficult to verify that members are actually over 18 years old.

You will see how old they are...

I´m pretty open mind BUT I can´t trust to open my personal under Penisarium here which I already open my personal at other forum because they have special password.. It´s wonderful to share our feeling there... It´s real fun & more relax because they have special password for us to join because the children CAN´t. It´s great.

That´s why I suggest you to check their age & date of birth...

I would never agree to let my children to join Adult forum like what Socrates say..

I blocked porn at internet to do is protect my children´s safety...

Here ?

Please think about the children´s safety.

Hmm... this is odd... coming from a person who's constantly posting pictures of penises. ;)

Anyway, how would Alex verify their age? He'd have to pay more to set up a service and we'd have to pay more to sign up for that service just to prove we're over 18.

I´m open minded until.....

It hit my head real hard with hammer after join other forum & find great that they give me special password to let me in. They do is protect the children, that´s why I thought about AD & wondering about this. :)

I´m total surprise after check A/S/L thread that we have teenager members... :|

Oh right, (bonk my head) my habits related liquior+Beer store/bar/ciggy by the laws.. total different btwn of ages 19 and 21.. *wasn't even think quicker than I expect*.. Thanks bring your finger pointing finger on my shoulder and remind me about it.. Thanks again!

i agree with yall, i think need password for this so children and under minor 18 yrs old, cant go in there.. it will be safe.. i dont wanna 16 or 17 's parent will blame for this ... it better for safe.. u know what i mean???

How will we verify their ages? That's the problem. For all we know, I could be 17 years old.

There's the COPPA - I think parents are responsible for their children's usage of internet.. admins can do so much. We have netnannies and all :) But yeah, I know nothing is foolproof.. Hope technology improves.

And, what could Alex do? It's like I said... the best way to verify our age is if we pay for a special service that proves we are 18 and I doubt we would want to spend more money for something like that when AllDeaf was originally free to begin with. Secondly, AllDeaf was originally set up so people can enjoy it without complaining. Yet, everyone is complaining about problems that only makes AllDeaf too strict, but at the same time... open for more problems. This is AllDeaf. Alex made AllDeaf the way he wanted it. He made it so it's unique. The changes that everyone keeps suggesting is so that AllDeaf is "like another forum". If that's the case, what's the point of having AllDeaf if it isn't unique?
 
I notice there are underage members here in Alldeaf but, they do know the risk in that thread and it will be the parent's responsibility for their own children not AllDeaf itself....IMO
 
My suggestion ...

How about askin' each member for their copy of I.D. with birthdates and names WITHOUT showin' faces and addresses ?? It can be sent to Alex through his email addy or somethin' to show that they are over the age of 18 ?

It's a good idea, but unfortunately there's still really no surefire way of verifying that the minors are who they claim to be. Minors could photoshop their id to change the dob, not to mention the amount of time it would take up on the administrator's/moderators' behalf. I for one, feel it is the parents' responsibility to monitor their kid's activity online. Maybe a prominent disclaimer stating that content on AllDeaf is intended for adults 18 and over would alert parents that AllDeaf isn't for children. The rest is up to the parents, hopefully they take it upon themselves to ensure their kids aren't up to something they wouldn't approve of.
