Does the following sound familiar?

* Was a God made flesh, the saviour and "Son of God".
* His father is God and his mother is a mortal virgin.
* He is born in a cave or humble cowshed on December 25 before three shepards.
* He offers his followers the chance to be born again through the rites of baptism.
* He miraculously turns water into wine at a marriage ceremony.
* He rides triumphantly into town on a donkey while people wave palm leaves to honor him.
* He dies at Eastertime as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
* After his death he descends to hell, then on the third day he rises from the dead and ascends to heaven in glory.
* His followers await his return as the judge during the Last Days.
* His death and resurrection are celebrated by a ritual meal of bread and wine, which symbolize his body and blood.

Jesus wasn't born on Dec 25. Reason easter changed on sundays every year is bec Jewish calendar, bec not the same calender we you and its follow during the passover week so called Holy Week.

He offers his followers the chance to be born again through the rites of baptism.

Wrong. Jesus saves thru grace only, NOT thru baptism or any other rites or works.

Then why we have John the Baptist?

The actual baptisms that he performed didn't save anyone.

Each person was saved by repenting sin and accepting the Savior sent by God. Baptism is the public display of obedience by a saved person, to show other people that "yes, I repent and accept Jesus".

Salvation first, baptism second.

Remember, the thief on the cross was saved without baptism.

Jesus asked John...
want him baptist!

Dove flew out....

Jesus DID...

Right. Jesus set the example for believers to follow.

Ok there is two kinds of baptism. First, the day you received Christ as your Savior, you are automatic baptized by the Holy Spirit and now you are sealed. Like Paul and Peter said, John the Baptist baptized you with water, but you need to be baptized by the Holy Spirit. Here's a illustrations, put your both arms in front of you, little distant from you, now, have ur left palm against your right palm, like glue together with open hand, not folded hand, ok, no left hand is you and the right hand is Jesus its a symbolic that you receive Christ, now, move your hand left downward (like the sign dead), both hands together, then leave your left hand down and raise your right hand apart from the left hand, show you were buried and now raise new life in Christ. You get it? Your old self is dead and you have new life in Christ. Water baptism is a symbolic to show the world who now I belong to. Its nothing complicating. Like Jesus said, "go therefore teach(meaning teach them about salvation, that's the key part when you ask Christ in your life) then baptized (water baptism) them in the name of the Fther, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Suppose you are very sick in the hospital and like Reba said, like the man on the cross is good example, you will still go to Heaven without baptism. But baptism is show us by follow Him in obedience. He will not turn back on them if anyone who are incapable to be in water baptism bec under circumstances. But the key is receive Christ in your life.

C.S. Lewis would call all of these tales of a "dying god" prior to Jesus something of a premonition that mankind had of the real thing--that is, Christ. He would say that these earlier cultures recognized in some way the necessary truth that sins must be atoned for and that a sinful human could not be an adequate sacrifice. In other words, these legends do not invalidate the idea of Christ but support it by proving that there was this universal understanding.

I don't know about you, but I found this idea interesting.

Interesting idea.

[the Word of] GOD be with us, not God is with us..

THE WORD IS THE WRITTEN

You can't talk to God without the word.. God must has the word you read/ hear.

He is the WORD OF GOD. God did not make the flesh without the WORD. The WORD made the flesh which live among people see themselves with flesh and blood. The SAME [word] was in beginning with GOD [aka Spirit/ Mind/ Head]. Since everyone made their confess that the word of Christ come in the flesh is of God among us and His WORD has the flesh and the blood dwell within us among us from yesterday, today and forever!

the Word is the SON OF MAN, because THE WORD IS SEED.

You can't cometh to eternal seed of life without the word.

those words I read and learned from scripture's doctrine!

I voted Jesus!

ONLY JESUS CHRIST IS ONE!  :thumb: :applause: ;)

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Mark 1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

Mathew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:

Mathew 3:12 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Mark 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Mathew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Mathew 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

Mathew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Mathew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mathew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
