I would like to suggest you to change from 100 x 100 pixel to 150 x 150 pixel for the avator.

I alway have problem to log 100 x 100 pixels because of gif. with few pictures.

I have most 115 x 115 pixels in my files.

What do you think?

I like the small resolution (100x100) because of less stretch of post plus board size. I am using 1024 x 768 or sometimes, 1600x1200 so avatar size usually does not bother me but it is probably bother others who uses 800x600 resolution (monitor).

Also you can resize these avatars to 100x100 to upload. It is simple actually. If you couldn't do that or not sure how to do, send me over and I will be more than glad to care of it for you.

Yep, he's right.

Remember me asking you to keep your signature images under 500 x 100 pixels? Well, if we were to increase avatar sizes... then the signature images would have to be under 450 x 100 pixels.

This request has been made before and denied before.

When it comes to the number of pixels for images, increasing the size of images can increase the size of its memory exponentially. For instance, here are a few images that I've uploaded:When you click on each, you'll notice that they are all the same animation image... but the memory size increases dramatically as it gets bigger. (Notice that 150 x 150 pixels is nearly twice bigger in memory size than 100 x 100 pixels?) Making it bigger will only limit the chances of members using bigger animated images. Leaving it at 100 x 100 will allow you to use more animation than you could at 150 x 150.

Not only that, it also makes us scroll the page more when we have bigger avatars. Will members want to scroll more just because everyone suddenly started using bigger avatars?

Making avatars wider will make the left column wider. Making the left column wider will make the right column narrower. Making the right column narrower will shorten the length of each line for our posts. Shortening the length of each line for our posts will increase the number of lines in our posts. Increasing the number of lines in our posts will lengthen the posts and threads. Lengthening out posts and threads will result to scrolling... and scrolling is a pain in the ass!

If you're concerned about using animated images, you can contact another member or me for help. You can also do it yourself on this website...

I like keeping the avatars and signatures small. It is tiresome to scroll past huge signature marquees that are 10 times larger than the actual postings. I don't even like seeing my own signature every time, so I often "opt out" the "Show your signature" box. I like to get to the "meat" of the messages.

Yep, we're not here to show off our super-sized avatars and signatures. We're here to make comments. :)

150x150, I'm all for it. Just perfect, it won't move our posts to the right. More bigger, more details the picture is.
