You can characterize me however you wish, but I have to ask...What business is it of yours? This was a private matter between BullyMom and I until today. I don't understand why YOU are so upset that I PMed BullyMom with this issue? :confused:

I have been using the "option" settings for quite a while. I enjoy the "clean" look on my AD pages now, and I can scroll thru the posts much quicker too, without all the tedious distractions.

Maybe the "invisible" avatars and sigs should be the default, and members would have to use the option button to view them?

Like some of the other members here, I don't "visit" Penisarium, Adults Only, or Hotties. From the titles of the threads I see there, the topics are not just sexual in nature but also very "junior high" silly. I guess it is the electronic age version of scribbling dirty words and pictures on public bathroom walls. The good thing about those clearly labeled forums is that people can make informed decisions to either avoid them or access them.

What I don't like is the occassional "blind side" hit I get when I open up a thread in General forum, with an innocent sounding title, only to view something nasty. I don't appreciate the "false advertising".

I also don't want to see nasty avatars and sigs when I'm reading a thread about home decorating or recipes. That's why I keep those options OFF.

Just my two centavos, and nothing personal to anyone.

So, DON'T say " some people don't practice what they preach "... they might find some flaws in you. Tell that " practice what you preach " on yourself instead of them.

About the avatar/signature : GA, I find these inappropiorate signature you had in yours about your personal life with your hubby -- THAT is NOT necessary to be said for everyone to know. It should be kept in bedroom. And, also I find this that the way you talk is verrrrrry rude. Your rude remarks -- gee, did you teach your kids to talk like that huh ?

I will not be surprised if I knew they will be like their momma when they grows up and they will say rude remarks to other people like you did to some ADers here. :roll:

I can understand members, like Eve in this case, who care enough to bring this issue up and see what we all think. I can also understand members like GalaxyAngel who find humor in things such as avatars, signatures, etc.

Personally, I have no problem with avatars like that of Steel's because it's not extreme, but at the same time I do care about the children having access to AllDeaf and seeing this kind of stuff. I mean, I have 4 tiny and gorgeous nephews and nieces, so I understand.

So, here's what I would like for all of us to do. We will set up a poll or two, and everyone will vote to either eliminate "sexual" (don't get confused with porn -- that I will definitely not allow in public) signatures/avatars/smilies, or not. This is your comunity, I'll leave this decision up to you guys. But, please, let's all stop with the finger pointing and be adults about this, ok?

You asked…Fortunately, the culprit of the signature I had in mind has chosen to change her signature. First, she had an avatar of a cat masterbating, a few weeks ago. Then, today I had enough of her signature which stated that she “lurved” her hubby eat her *moan horny*. Then in this very topic, she posted a very explicit and graphic animated pic of a human anus opening and closing at close range. I find all of the before mentioned examples to be quite distasteful and verging on pornographic.

I am for freedom of speech under the RIGHT circumstances (in the pensarium, for example). I don’t feel those of us who don’t want to know about your sex life should have to be exposed to it on a daily basis through your avatar or signature. Furthermore, I have the right to my opinion and have no intention of “backing off”.
