Remember the issues that have been debated on the various types of signatures and what is deemed appropriate or desired here in AllDeaf? That is the request of the members, but what about the requests of the moderators? If you read the guidelines for AllDeaf, it states that signatures have no more than one image and that those images be under 50 KB in size. Yet, a lot of you aren't following that guideline.

So, if you're requesting or asking for more from us... wouldn't it be respectful to show your support for us by meeting our requests? In doing so, it would help make our duties easier when it's hard enough to constantly PM'ing members over and over.

What are your thoughts on this?

hmm you removed all of the sigs ? hmm

I put under 400 X 100 which I dont put over 500 x 100 hmm :dunno:

Even when we all are aware of the rules outline here in Alldeaf about using ONE image in their signature, even if the moderators have to keep letting them know more then 3 times, simple give them a warn maybe they will think twice by respecting the rules outline here in Alldeaf :dunno:

I saw no warnings and the actions are beyond irresponsible and sends a devastating message to the members.

I guess my sig was too big.... due my sn was kind of little and hard to see it with that small sig... so that why I changed back up to 500... something like that... sorry! Oh well!!! since if have to be less than what I had, meaning that I have to redo with my sn on my sig to make bigger and able to see then resize my sig again!! And I do not know rather if my pm was on or not but I have had used pm for while but not much tho...

It does look like members are given a clean slate and the opportunity to create one signature and be within the size allowable and acceptable per Alldeaf rules. ;)

okay which rather under pixel ?? like under 500 x 100 ??? before put sigs agian thanks :ty:

Yep, under 500 x 100 pixels... only one image... and under 100 kb (preferably under 50 kb).

Is under 100 kb (preferably under 50 kb) for animated image correct?..

Vampy,

I hope I followed along. If not just let me know. I have no problem fixing what it is necessary for AllDeaf. :)

http://www.alldeaf.com/showthread.php?t=95Also, try keeping your images under 500 x 100 pixels. Any bigger and members are gonna have to scroll down more or possibly sideways as well.

I am going to be going through signatures and removing them if they are TOO big and contacting various members as well. If you see that your signature has been changed or removed, contact me through PM. If you see someone else's signature that I may have overlooked, feel free to contact me through PM.

The reason for this is so that the website can be easily accessible for our visitors and members. When signatures and images are too big, it makes the webpages more difficult to load and this isn't good for some of our members. Thanks for your time and understanding.

Quote:
3.) Participants using images as signatures and/or avatars are to use JPG or GIF format only. Only 1 image is allowed per signature, and must be 50KB or less in file size.

4.) Participants may not scroll unnecessarily. Scrolling can refer to the following:

a.) Excessive quoting
b.) Excessive smilies, pictures
c.) Marquee images, text (scrolling horizontally)
d.) Anything that is repetitious

Those are two that I found, however, there are several more. I'd be more than happy to post links to those other discussions but I think the point was made that this rule was established long ago and has been discussed on several occasions...besides, huge signatures also increase the overhead of running this site.

Once again the mods and I are starting to notice big images in signatures, either in dimension or filesize, or both. And no matter how many times we have asked them to change it, they continue to have big images.

Therefore, I have no choice but to remove all signatures and I'm asking all of you to please have only 1 signature, animated or static, as long as it's between 50-100KB in filesize.

If you need help resizing an image, please feel free to contact me. My email address is webmaster@alldeaf.com

We have to be fair to our 56Kers, both visitors and members, and make certain they can easily access AllDeaf.com without the long wait for a web page to load.

Thank you for understanding.

I got an aims from a member who complain about his/her signature remove, When I told that person that several members are not following the requirement of using ONE image and in 500x100. I noticed that Vampy kept on creating threads and members were ignoring his requested. Blame it on several members whom didn't follow along. ;)
