I realize that edit button will disappear in certain time frame. It didn't do that in the past but now it does.

I guess you made some configures with VB options, if so can I ask what time frame do we have before edit button disappears in our posts? Thanks!

Edit: Darn it, I should've use the title: 'Alex, what happen to edit button' instead of this title... it sounds like 'attack' but it is not my intention.. sorry about it.

I have the same issue as you Magatsu, I talked to Roadrunner and Vampy about this, and they both thought I was the only one with the problem not being able to see the edit button on my post...I am wondering the same thing as you, what happened to the edit button....

From now on, members have only 30 minutes to edit their posts. After this time limit only moderators will be able edit or delete the message.

In the past we've had members who abused this feature and edited their posts before they left AD for whatever reason. Because of this good threads had to be deleted. There are other reasons like if a post was reported, before a mod could take a look at the post, it could be edited by the member to make it look like nothing bad happened. And also spammers, they create a good post then later on edit it and include a link or two.

I'm hoping this wouldn't cause such a big problem. I think 30 minutes is more than enough to make sure if your post needs editing. After 30 minutes, if necessary, you can request a mod to edit/delete your post(s).

Is this because of what I did yesterday by edit a couple of my posts in one of the thread?...

If a member didn't respect your opinion and I didn't want to be part of one of the thread, how would I be able to edit my post by removing the entire message?

No, and I don't know which posts you're talking about, sorry.

If a member doesn't respect your opinion, well, they should or you can report it to the mods. If you would like the entire message deleted, like I said, you can request a mod to do it for you.

No problem, Thanks Alex! :thumb: ..

Now I will doublecheck before I hit the submit button so I don't embarass myself... :giggle:

Thanks for understanding.

If others want the time limit to be up to an hour instead, just let me know. I figured 30 minutes is enough but others may think otherwise. :dunno:

Well, it may not my place to say but I would think that an hour is better. Sometimes I posted but forget something to add or find few things thru online to correct my post. An hour will be good for that kind of thing.

But again, that's my opinion.

Ah, that makes more sense! That sounds like a good idea as well. ;)

Ohhh, yeah! I think I remember what happened that resulted in getting the edit button restricted.

Yup, it is a good idea to do that!
