U know my grandmother is the ONE who told my parents about sign language, and helped finding the " right " school for us, so believe me, this statement is not true...

Without my grandmother's help, my parents wouldn't know how to raise two deaf daughters..

No, childabuse is when you restrict your child from obtaining the best. And Deaf children should be asked if they want CI or not. but a deaf child is too young to be asked so the parent takes the decision. My daughter is deaf. Not Deaf. For us to give her hearing - which is better than the hearing of her hearing grandmother - is the opposite of childabuse in her case. In her case, NOT allowing her to be able to hear would have deprived her from lots of joy. So Had YOU not allowed her to be able to hear, you would have been guilty of child-abuse.

I know I allready told you this before, but I guess you just want to hear it again.
And don't feel sorry for my deaf daughter. She's enjoying every minute of her hearing life. And her deaf life.

Well, in all the 2 years that I have written to you I have never seen anything of it.
You were miserable... now these children should be miserable..

So, save some deaf and Deaf children and get educated instead of copying articles on the messageboard that either you haven't read or that are totally irrelevant.

My 4 year old (hearing) asks why my 4 month old cannot hear him, I tried to explain as best as I could why she does not hear him. He wants more than anything to talk to her and make her laugh. Why wouldn't I try to get her to hear him? Does not sound like child abuse to me. Like Cloggy said, depriving her of that joy could be considered child abuse.

AOS degree that does not do anything with liberal art courses in RIT. Liberal Art courses requires to write a lot of paperworks. It requires to take five elective courses that relates to Liberal Arts to get an AAS degree. Easy way out for him to get AOS degree. I find this is really odd strange for him to brag about. ** shaking my head**

I proved NTID wrong after I demanded to take a LAPT test and passed my writing test. So I can go to RIT to take some courses. That's how I got my AAS degree plus more credits toward BS degree. I left for a very good reason as far as I already explained it to you. I havent done it yet however I will go back to other college when I get a chance. My children comes first that I am willing to help them out while they are still young and have a chance to get a better life.

And whats more I got two Dean Lists at RIT for two quarters before my grandmother (102) died on the first year that I went back after all those years I didnt go to college. I earned the scholarship that I am proud of my hardwork achievement and GPA that is over 3.5.

I dont need to brag about it because it s for me not for you or anybody else. So there! Now you can see what I am trying to say.

NOW you are saying it aloud that we deaf people with HA device for many years that is a failure. LOL because ATTITUDE hasnt changed a bit for years and years until nowadays. I find this is not very good excuses. No need to force Deaf children to hear the sound that is very annoying noise if they dont want to hear with device. Parents kept pushing them too far and should give them a break.. let them decide whatever they want to use devices.


I do not believe all deaf children do not hear with HEARING AID device thats what I resisted you guys because it s full of shyte. I can hear the sound of music, bird singing, toot toot from the train passed by my house every day and other sounds when it comes with a quiet environment. Thats a reasonable for an Deaf adult who want to keep it up with the sounds that they get CI which it is their choices because it s similiar with older people that their hearing loss has changed in a long run..

Deaf children doesnt have any choices that i dont have any respect for audism attitude people 's selfish and oral method rules only. CI professional and audiologist do not know nothing but their lies that works out for them to make a big $$$$$. How clever they are! Same old shyte because we all deaf people cannot hear everything as people assumed that we can.. Scoffs!

Right now, I have 85 db in my right ear without HA device and still can hear the natural sound where the ambulance passed by me. I can still hear the fire alarm that is horrible to listen the sound. I am profoundly deaf as I was born with it. it doesnt mean you are gonna to make them hear what u hear because you are hearing not deaf. You are wasting my time and fighting with me all along. Sorry PAL!

Same old shyte what you have explained about your deaf child that reminds me when I was a little child. NOTHING changed!

No parents are forcing their deaf children to hear, it's all about what's best for their deaf children and having the right devices to help them hear when some deaf children didn't recieved any benefit from the use of hearing aids, then the parents look into the next step which is CI implants and they need the right help, encouragement and equipment for their deaf children...I know for the fact that ALL children inculding deaf loves using their voices and making sounds and when they have the right devices to help them hear, they will have plenty of opportunities to play and listen to sounds and speech as well.. and it helps the deaf child to hear lots of different sounds and they can pick up sounds and know the differences too... It is also important to talk to your deaf children and learn to talk by copying the voices that they hear..That's why I feel that hearing aids and CI implants are the best gift for every deaf child because it helps them be able to hear and be involved in both worlds...

You're comparing your childhood to others, why is it your place to worry about what these parents do for their own deaf children, and for that, I will never understand ..

Oh I forgot to mention this .. My honest audiologist said it s not worthwhile to have CI for me and many deaf people because he knows the truth.. I respected him with my heart.

Today my daughter got her second pair of hearing aids (the most powerful ones out there), and I think she actually heard something for the first time!! To see her little face light up when she heard noises was so great. I am not sure how much she heard, but I think for the first time she actually heard herself make a noise, and I think she heard my voice too. She was very excited. I really agree with you, I think she loved listening to herself babble!

I look forward to seeing her reaction as she hears other sounds in the future!

It s perfect example you are taking over Deaf community and my topic that is a very good example that u prevent Deaf people who believe in myself that I can do anything without devices. What a shame!

No wonder you dont listen Deaf leaders or Deaf people like me! Thats a very very good example of ASL / ORALISM extermists with audist attitude.

We have done with many jobs to stand up for our Deaf children and Deaf community that you dont have any respect. PEOPLE with audist attitude ignored as well as people are very selfish and coward as far as I CAN SEE IT so clear here.

All deaf site is not all about CI issue because it s for anybody who want to share with many people who want to learn and understand where we are coming from. JEEZ!
