I think we need to be better role models for those who are the younger ones that come to register on the AllDeaf forum and I think that if you want to have an adult orientated signature or avatar then there should be some way that Alex can have the computer activate the adult signatures and the avatars in the Pensarium meanwhile.... the general population forums should be clean and appropriate.

I think it is a matter of common sense and setting a good example to the younger ones that come here on AllDeaf. It not only is a wise and a very appropriate and a good policy.

I figure PG-13 is appropriate considering 13 is the minimum age legally allowed on this forum.

But when that says "profanity", I would suggest not allowing explicit descriptions of sexual acts (only fair since those same things could not be shown in pictures).
 
I personally think Diehardbiker did this poll right and fair just the same for movies....

Rated G—General audiences All ages admitted.

Rated PG—Parental guidance suggested Some material may not be suitable for young children.

Rated PG-13—Parents strongly cautioned Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.

Rated R—Restricted No one under 17 admitted unless with a parent or adult guardian

nudity is no limit for children to view but volience is a different story... I limit my children to watch volience movies, not soft sex movies (passionate, caress, loving feeling, romantic between naked couple), not hard porn (public sexual intercourse)...

Please do not confused nudity/soft sex with porn./hard porn.

I'm glad that Germans take care of volience and porn. restriction... We have many ban heavily volience movies... and censor, too... but I don't understand why people worried about protect children from nudity/soft sex movies, not volience movies... It look like volience movies are okay for people...

Please correct if I'm mistake or what.

Of course I told my hubby about this issues... He was like huh and said that heavily volience movies are okay for americans, not nudity/soft sex... or what? I was like yeah...

My hubby & I wondering either nudity/soft sex movies are for America is sexual harassment, sexual abusive or what?
 
I had said and voted it once before. why bother to vote again? I will never changed my mind. You gotta to use ur common sense about respect others. I am seeing horrible things to those children who are very innocent in this world. The world is falling apart that gets worse and worse than before. Sighs! I m pissed that people do not teach you how to respect others and not to across their boundary lines. Thats their moral values to preserve and carry it on into the next generation.

I second that. Very true. I don't think it is great idea to have such " bad influence " by exposin' " sex " or what ever that's to be seen in avatar/signature images. This will make the children under the age of 18 curious and want to know more about it through buyin' a " nude " magazine or find a " porn " site to satisfied their curiousity or questions someone about it and might want to try it without their parents' knowledge. This will bring a poor moral because, of that influence. They are supposed to be educatin' about life through deaf community - not " sex " community. Help them to learn how to live right, success their careers/jobs through feedbacks/ideas, and all that " positive " sides. Sex itself is way, way too temptin' for the young minds and it lurks them into elsewhere where they seek for a relationship or love. This site is NOT about " Datin' " Service where the avatars/signature images exposed its sexual explicit.

You show yourself as paranoid and hypocritical in your judgement post over nudity as a pervert or even worst… *shake my head*. I don't see nudity as "sexual thing" but merely as the way of nature.


You should see yourself the statistic in link shown that Europe countries have low pregnancies, diease, etc opposite to America because their parents talk sex issues openly with their children... They let thier children to watch soft sex movies, information, also teen-magazines over sexual imformation (mind you, it's not playboy magazine ;)).

To be honest, I am NOT paranoid or hypocritical. I CARE about the kids and, it doesn't mean that I am paranoid or hypocritical. Gee - you don't know me, Lieblin'. You forgot one thing... I am mother of 4 children and I DO know what it's like to feel when it influences to the minds of young children.

I don't care about the statistic you just provided the link here. I am very protective mother, because of morality I am concerned about. In this world, I find it is gettin' decay worse and worse - just, because they think it is okay to let the children to view partially nudity images when the images look soo innocence. Okay, I has no problem to accept your opinion but please don't judge/label parents as immature etc... because we have different opinion as you as well.

I ask you the same to accept that I'm an European and have different culture background as American culture. I know for American culture is sexual harassment, sexual abusive or sex offender when nudity issues comes but European's view is not... They would consider it as sexual abusive, offends, etc. if anyone touch children's private part or show his/her private part (errection, etc)

I do not consider artwork, naked statues, etc as sexual harassment, etc.... I see nothing wrong with that artwork... :dunno: Look at my signature... it's not porn...


 
Yes, your right! Problem is that most closed minded folks don't have any clue how much exposure on violence does affect child and when little tweety tiny of any sexual suggestive comment they gone into panic mode and freaked out. I was like RME!
In fact for hundred thousands of years Europe have had statues, and figures in nudity and not even one serious problem occured over years until recently closed minded people got upset and irriated because it seems to them that it has hurt everybody... Hey, comeon! they have not live more than 75 years yet and those statutes are alot older than them and been there for years. So whats friggin deal?

I see that PG-13 seems to be gaining popularity and I think it is fair rating for everybody on this forum!

Hey Liebling, I have question to ask you. I wouldn't be surprise if your answer came back as I have known though research...

Since Europe people are very opened mind when it comes to sex and artwork that comes in nudity. Do they have problem with abduction, rape, and other sex related crimes as much as in America have to deal with?

Most closed minded folks don't realize about “real world" also apply while online, When their kids see that their parents are closed minded, They would be afraid to go up to their own parents asking them sexual questions, because they might think they would get judged or yelled at. It is very important to keep an open mind during discussion.

And, for instance did you know that there are chat areas, where teens mostly go to, there are violent, perverts, harassment and bullying. Isn't it inappropriate for their children? of course it is, That's why we need to tell our children that there are things on the interent that they cannot do, there are parental control, there are blockers. Time to step up the plate and take care of your own children. There are ways to filter or control what your children can see and do online. ;)

As far as I concern that voilent crimes is rare here in Germany and also lowest crime rate as well but it could be occur at large cities.

Funny how several people voting yes were the ones accusing the nay-sayers of dispicable practices such as using multiple user names, when in all reality it was those same people who were stirring up trouble in the other poll so as to shut it down while the numbers were still in their favor. Seems the polls were rigged after all, just not by the ones who were accused of rigging it initially.

That means, higher numbers don't necessarily mean more crimes occur; it can mean that there is more reporting of crimes, and more law enforcement against crime.

Hey Liebling I found it, my mistake and yes you have got me right link. I see that United states got almost 4 times more sex crimes than in Germany where sex is pretty much open down there! So, this is the real proof that censoring only makes them worse anyway!

United States Rape (per capital) is .301318 per 1,000 poeple, comparing to Germany that got .09091731 per 1,000 people.

This proves that the more stricter law or controls encourage mischievous behavior no matter how good intention they were.

This sames goes to narcotics, we have the ugliest drug problem down here comparing with other countries where they generally lenient with dope fiends.

P.S. one big exception about sex crimes is that since Nevada is the only state that allows prostitution and they don't have serious rape issues like the rest of the states in the United States... Hey Closed Minded people, isn't it enough to show strong proof??? Sure there are plenty of kids in Las Vegas, Reno, and other cities and they see plenty of prostitutions around... Yet they don't commit much sex crimes like the rest of the America... Wake up!!!
