Internet Explorer 7 Beta

How popular is firefox? In just a little over the first three months of its existence, there were 25,000,000 recorded downloads!

no one *needs* IE... IE is really only necessary if you use Windows, and even then, only for patching purposes.

More accurately, ActiveX is a windows-only thing, so there's no reason to implement it in something that is cross-platform.

That said, another point to be made is there's no reason IE has to be bolted into the OS... On Macs (and Linux), you can remove the web browser if you want without hurting anything, you can't do that on Windows...

On Windows, you remove IE, the system stops working, but in OS X you *can* remove Safari if you want to. (you can remove Konqueror, Epiphany, Firefox, etc. on Linux, but that's kind of a moot point since Linux does not have a default web browser).

Darn. Thanks for info.

Correct. Few people asked me to how to remove IE from Windows and I said not good idea and it would mess up OS.

Hmm I like Konqueror from Linux. Which browser you use for Linux?

Nope... It's true. Firefox is simply *better* than IE.

if remove IE, other Norton, MCE, McAfee, will not work becuase they are IE Engine

Well, that's why I use Mozilla that comply with the businesses online very well in fact .. very few of them requires I.E. to run with. So use IE as little as you can that is whenever they require you to. Firefox doesn't work with some of them .. although it's really cool browser but Mozilla tops that, period.

In fact, I.E. is your worst nightmare browser .. why? It's easier for the hackers, spoofers, hijackers, ActiveX, etc. to sneak on your computer. IE has so many holes that MS has/had to patch its holes (security patches) often. Other browsers like Firefox and Mozilla (others?) has better security features unless you add extensions on them.

I like IE ok but won't use it as my frequent use because of that. Be a smarter browser especially these days ahead (and currently). So either Mozilla or Firefox is most ideal and smarter browser you all ought to try and find out why.

My friend who is a computer expert uses Mozilla, too. I'm almost a computer expert and we both are very longtime users so we really know the hard facts. You will like the Mozilla browser (not Firefox). Hope that Firefox improves to comply more and more in time, but I think they will. So for now I suggest you all to use Mozilla!

Background = Black
Text = White

still Background is WHITE!

IE6 and IE7 have Ignore "color", "font styles", and "font sizes" specified on webpages. Firefox don't have them

obviously, you don't respect the web designer who create their layout to make nice view to read or look up. :)

I am upset IE7 Where is Size Text key + Wheel

IE6 is CTL + Wheel but IE7 CTL + Wheel for only Zoom I NEED WHERE IS TEXT SIZE KEY??????

I wish

Shift + Wheel for Text Size
CTL + Wheel for Zoom
