Thanks, RHR, for the Digital CableCard link! If it's on a MCE2006 version, then CC support should be built-in. But, like all others, I'll wait and see what happens when it's actually released.

There's a Sony HD recorder out now. I saw it in a Best Buy store recently and it takes a CableCard. At $500 dollars, I'm gonna wait a while! I have no idea if CC should work, but I assume it does.

CableCard is not sale, only CableTV Company CableCard put HDTV same not sale Digital Cable Box but really you saw $500 at bestbuy???? CableCard size same Laptop's PCMCIA
 
for instance, my fiancee and i are interested in sharp aqous 37" or 45" hdtv for our den room.
model: LC-37D5U. it has digital analog/digital CC and CableCard, according to its user's manual book
model: LC-45GD4U. same as above.

i think we are ok with dtv with cablecard and CC.

back to topic: i dont know if i want to try that PC with cablecard and CC. but it sounds cool idea to have that.

i und what u mean what it can do what it cant do like cable box - Movies on Demand or Pay per View. i never access that because i have my own DVD movies and Premiums Cable.

it is individual's choice. i wud choose cablecard because i like no electronic boxes beside or below HDTV...and less wires !

me too, hey 37" or less only up to 720p (720 x 1280), better 45" up to 1040p (1920 x 1080) but expenise! about $3,500 or more
maybe this december for Happy Holiday 20% off about $2975 sigh

HDTV with bautiful font, color, size, but MCE2005 cannot to HDTV's CC but only MCE2005's CC becuase it is filter

interesting about timewarner cable. after i read your post, i went to my comcast's website and it does offer the same features with CableCARD as cable box.

i copied and pasted from comcast.com.

"By offering CableCARD service, we’re able to provide choices: customers who prefer not having a digital set-top box can use a CableCARD, while customers who want to use the full range of Digital Cable features, e.g. ON DEMAND, pay-per-view and the Comcast interactive program guide, will continue to use a set-top box provided by Comcast to receive those features."

I'm not so sure if there will be MCE 2006.. Since I have heard is next version of Windows operating system to be called "Windows Vista", it will be included Media Center Edition. :) To be remind y'all.. Some of Windows Editions aren't included MCE.. Such as "Home Basic Edition".. But it will include "Home Premium Edition" or "Ultimate Edition" versions..
