Teen Driving

Exactly!!!!

I paid 3,500.00 Deutsche Mark ($ 2,360) for 3 weeks driving lesson in 1992. I also pay extra for "Question and Answer" driving form, too. If I pass question and answer driving test form then take driving test..... I wont have driving test unless I pass question and answer test form. I pass both tests then got driving liescne at last. But But But now??????? Maybe double price $4,000??????

I was shock when I read this whole thread here. Driving lesson in America is terrible CHEAP!!!!! wow!

It sounds that it's legal for parents to teach their children driving lesson in America. Right? Here in Germany is illegal! :ugh: I would get in trouble when police see me teach my children driving lesson.

I wish that law in USA would be illegal for parents to teach their kids how to drive...No offense...I am driver ed instructor... I have seen parents who teach their kids how to drive and yet they were wrong about the traffic rules...how sad that their kids learned from their parents...I had to deprogram them and to teach them the right way to follow the traffic rules and driving attitudes...today it costs the parents to pay $300 to $400 dollars for their kid to a driving school in order for them to get their discount on their auto insurance...today, to buy a kid an auto insurance is very expensive...it costs approx $3,000 to $5,000...that's why the parents decided to send their kids to a driving school...

just pay and take driving school. shut up your yapping about all those crap you have made up in your mind.

Thank you for explain. I understand and agreed now why you wish to have it as illegal for the parents to teach children how to drive in USA.

True, true I'm agree with you that the children should take driving lesson at driver school to learn traffic rules correct. I realized now and agree with German law.

As you said that you are driver ed instructor. May I ask you question? Do they offer Question and Answer driving test form in USA? Here in Germany, yes. First of all we took driving lessons everywhere and go back to classroom everyday for 3 to 4 weeks. The instructor educated us how to follow traffic rule etc etc etc. until that final examination. I passed Question and Answer driving test form then drive everywhere until I passed again then get driving liescne at last.

Yes, it's same with Germany about car insurance. It's very expensive for beginners. I used my hubby's insurance policy for 5 years with no accidents then apply my own insurance. It's cheaper but but but but but.... it mean that it's expensive for the parents if their children had car accidents. Most parents rather to let the children have their own insurance instead of use parents's insurance policy.

How old children are allow to take driving lesson and get liescne in USA?

Here in Germany, 17 to 18 years old but most are not interesting to take driving lesson until after finish with unvitersity/college then.......... It's common for Germans use bicycles.

See i knew it!!! On CBS news they showed teens in a classroom learning basic driving rules on the roads. And who pays for this? TAXPAYERS!!! See it cost me $35 frigging bucks for each lesson. So why dont the IRS pay for adults too who want to learn to drive. There is no link. For those living in the west coast watch CBS evening news and watch the story.

That sucks to hear ur story about getting drivers license in Germany. I wonder how do people save up that much money for just getting drivers license in Germany,I guess many the majority of people in Germany are rich, so they can afford getting one, hence the autobahns!

I had to pay $200 something for driver's school, and $9.50 for a learner's permit (It must be renewed every year), then driver's license for $18.50. Remember, every states really do vary on their costs of permits and licenses.

Besides, RSteve, we (in America) don't have pauper's or debtor's prison.........

My father taught me to drive when I was eight. When I was 14, we had driver's education in school, and I passed the written test, then drove on a restricted license (adult in the car) til I was 16. Then I took the written and road test and have driven ever since with no accidents or tickets. I started teaching my daughter to drive at eight. My son is 13, but he is not mature enough yet to take driving seriously, so I have not started teaching him yet. This teaching your own kids is more common in rural areas. Both my daughter and I learned on county gravel roads where state laws do not appy. I drove by myself for years (8-15) on these county roads because we lived on a farm and it was important that I be able to carry seeds, fuel, chemicals and machine repair parts to workers in the fields. Taking a bus or riding a train was not an option.

Not really... not rich....

Germans save up what they can. Pay € for 1 hour driving lesson then pay € for other driving lesson..... total to €..........

Well, it´s good economcy in Germany.

It´s common for Germans use bicycle than drive because of protect enviorment-friendly.

Yes. As I said, with adult supervision. That is one reason why I am surprised that so many adults don't have a driver's license. But I guess if you grow up in a city where using public transportation is available, there is no need to learn how to drive. If you have never been to The U.S., you cannot imagine how large it is. Riding a bicycle is O.K. for metropolitan areas, but an awful lot of this country is still rural. My doctors are 50 miles away in the closest large city, though we have local hospital and some doctors. I live eight miles from town here on the farm.

I understand.. .

it´s same with Germany but most German use bicycle no matter how long way....

I often use bicycle for 4km to 10 km.... (save car gasoline) because of expensive gasline in Germany.

If work, then we has to drive everyday because I live in countryside.

Accord German law: We MUST have driving liescne..... You will get in trouble if you dont have driving liescne.

I live in countryside and have good bus connection to town which it´s 4 km away from my home.... but I still use bicycle if I want go to get small foods... If big shopping then take a car.

German law for driving from 17 to 18 years old....

My 15 yrs old brother paid for his driving school and behind the wheel.. he will get lisncesed on his b day...

I'm sorry, could you clarify something for me? Are you saying that you are required to have a drivers license even if you have no intentions of driving and even if you have no car?
It's required of everyone?

Check my earlier post....

I only get driving liescne if I pass both Question and Answer driving test form and driving test. I hold driving liescne - no matter either I have car or not but still prove that I took driving lesson from driving school. 3 months after pass test then got car.

Please go back to read my post .... :D then answer what you think and any question?

I've already red your ealier post. And just to make sure, I just went back and re-read it. I did not see, and still do not see, anything about having to get a license even if you don't have a car and even if you don't want to drive.

Oh, you dont have to get driving liescne if you dont want to learn to drive....

You dont have to go driving school if you dont want to learn drive and dont want to have a car.

Is what you mean?
