With the Public VP in bad shape and badly messed up, and now the Internet here is messed up, cause I am unable to place calls with my laptop VP's, and my ntouch mobile isn't operational, either, which puts me in a bad spot, if an emergency happens here, and I need to be able to reach 911, and without the VP's here operational, that's not a good position to be in. I have informed my point person that we needed to get this straightened out ASAP, so that I have a viable option for calling someone if I need to.

then you need to contact VP tech support

That's the property management's job, not mine. I don't own the VP, I just tell them if we have a problem or not. I am not authorized to do any checks or anything like that on it. If there was a SVRS router here, I could easily hook up my ntouch PC to that, and use it, but there's not-- it's hooked up to the Comcast Business Class Modem, and that could be a problem.

That's what happens when you live under someone's care. It's hard. Hope it gets fixed soon!! If anything happens, you can always ask a hearing person to call for you. A neighbor would do.

Actually, I'm in better shape now-- I had to activate my phone's hotspot, the only thing that still works around here. I can make calls with that, no problem. It runs faster than anything else here, anyways. All the WiFi's run at 54 mbps, and my hotspot runs between 65 and 72 mbps, a little faster and stronger.

He could have an emergency and not be able to get to a neighbor. What if he fell and could not get up to reach a neighbor ???

What if he fell and can't reach his phone or computer? Same scenario. Life isn't perfect. We make do what we can.

My mother lives in a retirement community where they have emergency pull strings/rope in every room in each unit that signals the hospital/ambulance there is trouble. She says alot of times residents can't reach the string/rope to pull it. It happens. If you're lucky to reach help, great.

On TV there was advertising for an help device that people can wear on their wrist and all they need to do is press the button. Commercial showed a woman falling down saying "help I can't get up". She simply presses a button on her wrist. Not everyone can have those. That probably costs money to have that.

Hence my ntouch mobile. As everyone knows here, I have two bad knees and a bad back, and if I fell, I would be very unlikely to get up if the injury was severe, which is why I must carry it with me at all times.

I almost always carry my phone with me, and in an easy to reach place, and not in my pants pockets, if I am unable to move my legs, but able to move my arms. *knocks on wood*

My Grandma's retirement community had the same thing in every units.

Better have a 2nd phone in case your arms fail but your legs still work.

And how do you expect me to be able to reach my phone? I have never had to practice with my feet, and I hope that is never the case. *really knocks on wood* Plus, I'm already paying nearly $70 for the one I have now, because of the hotspot addition on it, which is keeping this Internet running.

i gave up will to live few hours ago all cock ups trying do shopping and not one was my fault

I'm just joking around with you.

Isn't that kind of like trying to play frisbee with a boomerang? He ain't ever going to catch it :) actually no, that sounds like more fun.

I'm do glad we have this thread. We really ended another thread about Marks Internet and his toys. :ty:

Hop on over to Dreamer's thread, and learn something worthwhile. Good info on the last couple pages. Thank You.

You can't blame every thing you do on TS. It's a neurological disorder. Are you going to sit there and say that your uncontrollable behavior is to make threads about your Internet, your phone, your VP and your laptop? C'mon now. Or having TS makes you not get jokes? Nevermind

No, I don't. TS is real, and it's not fun to deal with, but I have had it for nearly 22 years, and I have learned to deal with it. And no, I don't blame everything on TS. That is not a smart and unwise move, because if I did, it wouldn't help my situation. Anyhow, I know a lot more than you think I do. I am actually a lot smarter than you think I am.
