Connecticut's always had higher than national minimum wage. Even when I worked there in the late 1960's. They have a high cost of living for that state.

and Connecticut has one of the highest tax rate in US

Virginia is way down that list, I think it's currently $7.25 in Virginia? Both of my parents make that and only get part-time work, so financially they aren't doing great and neither is anyone else in the family, including me. One brother incarcerated the other mentally disabled and works for far underminimum wage.

Good to see some places are advancing pay for people to actually live on.

Oh wow, no doubt, I think unemployment rate will increasing and having 15% unemployed may become normal, rather than 3%.
If the minimum wage goes up too much everywhere it will definitely cause more unemployment.

If there is no minimum wage, employers set low wage - nobody want to work with low wage, so employers will replace with automation.

Not just minimum wage caused unemployment, there are other things that cause unemployment, especially popularity of online, automation, low sales, increase of efficient that require fewer workers to operate and other reasons.

I think employers love to replace everything with automation, regardless on minimum wage to maximizing the profit.

Ban on automation is better solution? I don't know. :dunno:
