Do not ask me that question, thank you. Ask them instead. I don't produce rumors.

hmm let me think,,,,ok good idea let all of your new/old TDD/TTY return to where you brought and get money back depend ok. OR you can send all ttys mail to FCC building and let fcc see how much deaf people dont want back same old times with tty! fcc will notice deaf people want to keep VRS running for life no matter how much rate are import. i bet fcc office will tired of too many boxes of tty on them's desk! let them find out! got it huh?:giggle:

Not that I know of so far. We will find out the latest after 4th of July.

It's not a rumor; the FCC did freeze the rates so that's good, meaning there's another year before the next deadline to get all the facts, etc. They may need to cut the rate a bit.

Just visit VRSCA - Video Relay Services Consumer Association and here what I just learn from that site...

There will be "Short term" rate freeze, it could mean anywhere from weeks to year. Who knows?

FCC seems to have decided to set the VRS rate based on season, and give VRS companies 3 years prediction on what the rate would be. That is good news for most, maybe all of VRS companies. That way, they can better prepare for cost adjustment. The more these VRS companies can predict, the better they can perform.

I can sleep well tonight!

We don't know when they'll determine if the rates will go up or down, but for the meantime, it's staying the same rate as last year. In the past, the FCC has adjusted them within a few months.

6/29/2007 - The FCC issues an Order continuing the 2006-2007 Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) Fund compensation rates until such time as new cost recovery methodologies and rates are adopted and effective pursuant to the 2006 TRS Cost Recovery FNPRM. The present per minute compensation rates for the various forms of TRS that will be continued are: $1.291 for interstate traditional TRS; $1.409 for interstate Speech-to-Speech (STS); $1.291 for interstate captioned telephone service; $1.293 for interstate and intrastate IP Relay and interstate and intrastate IP captioned telephone service (IP CTS); and $6.644 for interstate and intrastate Video Relay Service (VRS). The Commission adopts an interim total Fund size of $553,378,363.18 and carrier contribution factor of 0.0072. The Commission expects that these figures will be adjusted if new compensation rates are adopted that differ materially from the present rates.

I believe the FCC can change the rates anywhere from three months to a year as of the date of the freeze announcement. Welcome back, dbarovian; I've missed you...

I feel don't worry about it. FCC and Sorenson work on and will find out.

Don't worry. :) Relax.
